Change of Fund Name

A Change of a Fund Name is completed on the same form as a Deed Update or Variation. You can replace your old deed with an updated SMSF deed and take advantage of the latest rules at the same time.

If the previous deed was prepared by Docscentre then the process will be straightforward and can be completed quickly. If it was purchased from another provider, it will need to reviewed prior to the issue of new documents. This may take a little longer, but is necessary to be sure member benefits are preserved.

Your new deed will include all current rules under the Docscentre permissive style SMSF Deed, allowing maximum flexibility and requiring less updating. Product Disclosure Statements still require regular updating as various elements such as pension dates and thresholds may have changed.

For bulk updates please contact Docscentre. Where deeds are predominately from the same supplier time can be saved in the review process and these savings passed on.

Docscentre will review your deed and generate SMSF documents to upgrade an existing trust deed of a Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) to comply with the current superannuation and taxation laws.

The documentation to update the deed will be prepared in accordance with the rules as set out in the original fund deed, they will usually include:

  • New SMSF Deed
  • Deed of variation
  • Resolution and minutes for the Trustee/s to accept the changes
  • Death Benefit Notices
  • Notice to Members
  • Product Disclosure Statement

You will receive electronic copy of the documents (with the option for hardcopies as well).
